Male cards

Don't we all find the males in our lifes difficult to make cards for. Well I have a few birthdays coming up and thankfully in the new mini there are some stamps that are great for these occasions.

My brother was motorbike mad until he hurt his back and then found it not so comfortable. In the new mini there is an A la Carte stamp of a motorbike and I had to get it. At our regional training Charlotte showed us a card similar to this one and I have tweaked it to make this for his birthday.I have used Crystal Effects over the paintwork to make it glossy and stand out and the new Glass Glitter for stones.
Inside I repeated stamped the motor bike without reinking to give it a look of driving away. The sentiment on the front is out of the Plane and Simple set and inside from Level 3 Hostess set Occasional Quotes. Hope you enjoy this fun card.

Loving the new mini...

I have been playing again and thought I'd share.

This card says everything I love about Stampin' Up!. Everything co-ordinates, the Designer Series Paper, the cardstock, ink, ribbon, stamps and punches. Plus now we can do so much more as we have the Big Shot.

I've seen them everywhere, these quilted cards. So this is my version. Using the Springtime Vintage DSP I've punched out some 1 1/4" squares and stuck them down on the good old grid paper. When I had roughly an A5 piece covered, I cut it out and using the Top Note die, put it through the Big Shot. I then put it through the square lattice embossing folder and it came out looking just like fabric. Beautiful. Then stamped one of the Four Frames stamps using Crumb Cake and punched out using the decorative label punch. Then a thanks from the Thank You Kindly set in Rose Red. All wrapped together with some Rose Red Seam Binding.Hope you like.

New Mini Blog Hop

Welcome to the ILWS Mini Blog Hop.

Well if you've followed the blog hop you will have come from the very talented Lindsey.

Well, we have finally got the Big Shot. I made this brooch using the Circles #2 die. I bought this polyester material remment at the local fabric shop and in one pass cut 8 circles each of the four circles on the die. I roughly layered them up and then secured them in the middle with a giant crystal brad. I heated the edges with my heat gun. This curls the edges. When I was happy with the look I glued a pin back to the back of the brad. I made some for my team too.

This Top Note die I think is going to be very popular, it is so versatile. Here is a basket, kindly shown to us by my downline Michele and of course don't throw away the negative. It can be a fabulous frame. Also it fits all of our cello bags, so makes a great topper. The Beautiful Butterflies are just that..beautiful and with our new the embossing folders, the possibilities are endless.

I hope you have enjoyed your stop, next stop is staying in Scotland and visiting the wonderful Evelyn.

Thanks for stopping by.
